Azlan Shah Hussain is a Principle Scientist (Process Technology) with PETRONAS Research of Malaysia. He has 15 years of experience in process development, mainly in the area of downstream processes. His research interests cover the area of unconventional carbon sources utilization, acid-base chemistry, catalysis, and ionic liquids. He has published papers and proceedings in the area of downstream processing, thermo-physical properties of ionic liquids and biomass processing strategy. He is an adjunct lecturer in green chemistry and organic chemistry subjects in Universiti Teknology PETRONAS, a wholly owned university of PETRONAS. He is also a Chartered Scientist with the Science Council UK, chartered member of the Institute of Chemical Engineers UK and the Royal Society of Chemistry UK where he performs various volunteer roles.
