Chungui Lu
Prior to joining NTU, Professor Lu was Director of the Centre for Urban Agriculture at the University of Nottingham. Professor Lu gained a Ph.D. in Plant Molecular Biology from the University of Nottingham in 2000. Following postdoc positions at the University of Wales in Bangor and the University of Bristol, he took up a joint post as a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer at NTU/UoN in 2006. He leads the Centre for Urban Agriculture. His research focuses on sustainable agriculture through innovative urban agriculture and vertical farming. He has published over 65 refereed papers in sustainable agriculture, horticulture and plant genomics including Nature – Systems Biology and Applications, Plant Cell, Plant Physiology and Plant Biotechnology Journal high impact journals. He contributed 7 book chapters including Plant Factory, Encyclopedia of Sustainable Technologies.
