Dr. Xiao Zhang received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Xi’an Jiaotong University, Xi’an, China, in 2012, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from North Carolina State University, Raleigh, NC, USA, in 2015 and 2017, respectively. He is involved in developing transparent capacitive micromachined ultrasonic transducers (CMUTs) for medical and air-coupled applications. He has authored or coauthored over 20 scientific publications. His research focuses on design and fabrication of 1-D and 2-D CMUT arrays and associated MEMS transmit/receive switches on glass substrates, as well as their integration with front-end electronics for medical imaging and therapy applications. Dr. Zhang received the Student Travel Awards from the 2015, 2016, and 2017 IEEE International Ultrasonics Symposia, the UGSA Conference Award at NCSU in 2015, first place in the 2017 NCSU ECE Research Symposium, and the Student Paper Competition Finalist Award from the 2016 and 2017 IEEE International Ultrasonics Symposia. Dr. Zhang currently a Senior Engineer with Skyworks Solutions Inc. working on acoustic MEMS design and development.
