The characterization was done using the more novel technologies existent in the proteomic field, obtaining a deep overview of how macrophages respond using intracellular but also extracellular signaling (via exosomes) to fight against the fungal infection. During the PhD did 2 scientific visits in the University of Southern Denmark, Odense (Denmark) and in the Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research (MIT), Cambridge (Massachusetts, USA).
