Amarnath Mishra

Dr. Amarnath Mishra has been working as Senior Faculty of Forensic Science, Program Leader and Quality Assessment & Enhancement Support at Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida, India since August 2015. Prior to this, he had worked as Assistant Professor and promoted to Associate Professor in the Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology at Tribhuvan University, National Medical College, Nepal, and worked as Lecturer in the Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology at Kathmandu University, College of Medical Sciences, Nepal. He has 13+ years of experience in Academics, Research and Administration. Dr. Mishra has awarded with Ph.D. degree in Forensic Science with specialization in Forensic and Analytical Toxicology from the Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology & Sciences, Prayagraj (Formerly SHIATS, Allahabad) in collaboration with the Central Forensic Science Laboratory, Chandigarh, MHA, Govt. of India. He received his M.Phil. degree in Biochemistry with specialization in Forensic Biochemistry from Vinayaka Missions University, Salem, Tamilnadu, India. He completed his M.Sc. in Forensic Science with specialization in Forensic Serology & DNA Fingerprinting from the Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology & Sciences, Prayagraj (Formerly AAIDU, Allahabad) in collaboration with the Central Forensic Science Laboratory, Hyderabad, MHA, Govt. of India He has worked as a Research Scholar (May 2007 - July 2008) in the pilot study on “Non-registration of F.I.R.\" at Police Stations conducted by the Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D), MHA, Govt. of India. He has qualified UGC-NET in 2007 for Lectureship in Forensic Science. Dr. Mishra published 5 books, 16 book chapters, and more than 30 research articles in reputed peer-reviewed National and International journals and presented around 20 papers in national and international conferences and attended more than 50 conferences, seminars, workshops, FDPs and refresher courses. He has given more than 14 invited talks at various national and international events. He has filed 3 patents out of which two are granted and one is in pipeline at final stage of being awarded. He has served as the Visiting/ Guest Faculty of various Colleges and Universities like Amity University Dubai, U.A.E., Department of Forensic Science and Criminology of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (A Central University), National P.G. College, University of Lucknow, India. He is supervising four Ph.D. candidates in the area of issue and prospective of DNA application, analysis of anesthetic drugs, analysis of fire accelerants in arson cases, and determination of adulterants in dietary supplements respectively. He has guided more than 100 undergraduate and postgraduate students of various programs i.e. B.Sc., B.Tech., M.Sc., M.B.B.S. and M.D. Dr. Mishra is a Technical Assessor for National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL), India. He is a paper setter and an external examiner for various academic institutions and recruitment agencies. He is editorial board member in different reputed National and International journals. Dr. Mishra has organized several events like One-Day International Web-Seminar on “Role of Forensic Science and Law in Safety of Women & Children” (A dialogue dedicated to the Mission Shakti: An initiative of U.P. Government, India), International Conference of Biotechnology Society of Nepal on “Biotechnological Revolution in Environmental, Agricultural Technologies and Healthcare (BREATH)” and Seven Days Online Faculty Development Program on “Recent Advancement in Forensic Science and Technology” (Crime Scene to Court Room). Dr. Mishra is a Freelance Forensic Expert and Medico-legal Consultant for the Court of Law under section 45 of the Indian Evidence Act 1872. He has also contributed his knowledge and experience in TV and Radio programs as a Forensic Expert.
