I earned my B.Tech in Food Technology from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, I got the opportunity to join the School of Biochemical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University) Varanasi, as M.Tech graduate and later got Ph.D in Protein Engineering laboratory under the supervision of Prof. Mira Debnath Das. I earned Ph.D (Biochemical Engineering, IIT BHU) on an exceptionally well researched project on 'Bioprocess (fermentation) strategy development on production and characterization of antifungal protein from Aspergillus giganteus” that involves Growth and Production media design (fermentation design); Isolation and purification of antifungal protein (secondary metabolite production); In vitro Application and MICs determination; Molecular characterization of antifungal protein and Growth Modeling and kinetic study (batch/continuous fermentation) to elucidate the interdependence of morphological properties attributed to filamentous growth in fermented broths and kinetics phenomena related to better bioprocess strategy to optimize the operating conditions for process improvement. I also actively participated in an international conference on Biomolecular Engineering, Singapore (organised by AIChE, SBE, USA) and national workshops on proteomics (IIT Bombay and IIT Delhi, India). This led to the development of my organizational skills, leadership qualities and cross-functional communication in a group.
