Habib Chouchane

Dr. Habib CHOUCHANE graduated from the Natural Sciences at the Faculty of Sciences of Tunis (FST), University of Tunis El Manar in June 1994. From 1994 to 2007 he was recruited as a secondary school teacher of Natural Sciences. He obtained his Master's Degree in 2005 and his PhD degree in 2010 in biology at the University of Toulouse. He was recruited in 2007 as Assistant at the University of Gafsa. In 2013 he was recruited as Assistant professor at the Higher Institute for Biotechnology of Sidi Thabet (ISBST, University of Manouba), where he joined the research laboratory “Biotechnology and Bio-Geo Resources valorization”. His main research activities focus on microbial biomolecules (exopolysaccharides, biosurfactants and extremozymes) with valuable applications in bioremediation and health. His current collaborations include WE-MET project (sustainable Wastewater treatment coupled to Energy recovery with Microbial Electrochemical Technologies) and MADFORWATER project (DevelopMent AnD application of integrated technological & management solutions FOR wasteWATER treatment & efficient reuse in agriculture tailored to the needs of Mediterranean African Countries). Dr. Chouchane has published more than 25 peer-reviewed papers and book chapters
