Hector Jaramillo S.
Héctor E. Jaramillo S. is a full-time professor-researcher of the Autonoma de Occidente University (Cali, Colombia, Sour America). He has a Ph.D. of the Universidad del Valle with an emphasis in mechanical of solids, the Ph.D. dissertation was about the design and development of a finite element model of the L4-L5-S1 segment of the human spine. In order to calibrate the model, Prof. Jaramillo had to perform the experimental characterization of the segment in the Orthopaedic Bioengineering Research Laboratory of the Colorado State University. He has a lot of experience in finite element analysis using nonlinear, orthotropic, hyperelastic and particularly non-conventional materials as biologic materials. He has a master’s degree in Civil Engineering (2004), and B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering (1992). His topics of interest are biomechanics, human spine, finite element analysis, L4-L5-S1 motion segment, fatigue, mechanics of solids, fatigue fracture mechanics and mechanical engineering.
