Roberto Tapia-Conyer

Dr. Roberto Constantino Tapia-Conyer MD, MPH, MSc, DrSc, has been the Carlos Slim Foundation CEO during the last 10 years. In that position, he has designed and implemented innovative initiatives and models to strengthen health systems and foster the solution of demanding health problems. He served at the Federal Mexican Ministry of Health for over 25 years. As General Director of Epidemiology, he designed and implemented the National System of Epidemiological Surveillance, and the National Health Surveys. As Vice-Minister of Prevention and Health Promotion, implemented innovative public health programs that are cornerstone of Mexico´s Public Health agenda. He is member of the International Task Force for Disease Eradication of The Carter Center, several consulting bodies. He has been professor at the UNAM’s School of Medicine and University of California.
