Barbara Ziemba

Barbara Ziemba, PhD, is a biologist with ten years of experience in dendrimers research. Dr. Ziemba is a scientist with an academic background from one of the largest research university in Poland. She graduated from Molecular Genetics at the Faculty of Biology and Environmental Protection, University of Lodz in 2006 and obtained her PhD degree in Biophysics in 2012. She is experienced in in vitro and in vivo studies, including biological evaluation of medical devices at the Nofer Institute of Occupational Medicine in Lodz, and research on the topic of glycodendrimers as drugs in chronic lymphocytic leukemia and laser radiation effects on mesenchymal stem cells at the Department of General Biophysics, University of Lodz. She is a winner of scholarships within scientific projects and has also received awards for academic and scientific achievements. She is interested in glycodendrimers toxicity and their applications in cancer therapy. She is a co-investigator in research projects and author of scientific publications cooperating with great research centers from Europe, including Hospital General Universitario Gregorio Marañón in Madrid, Spain, Institute of Biophysics and Cellular Engineering of NASB in Minsk, Belarus, and Leibniz Institute of Polymer Research Dresden, Germany. Since November 2016 she holds the position of Senior Specialist at the Department of Clinical and Laboratory Genetics, Medical University of Lodz, Poland, where she conducts research on the topic of glycodendrimers as nanodevices in cancer therapy. Dr. Barbara Ziemba is an enthusiastic person with a high level of motivation and desire to gain new experience and skills.
