Francois Stepman

Francois Stepman is since 2010 a communication and donor relations manager with the European Commission/Development Cooperation funded Platform for African – European Partnership in Agricultural Research for Development (PAEPARD). He has more than 25 years of experience in development co-operation, policy advisory research and capacity building in Southern research institutes. He lived some ten years in Africa where he worked for: the United Nation Programme for Development (UNDP) in Mauritania, Medecins Sans Frontieres South Sudan Medical relief programme in Kenya and the Forum for Agricultural research in Africa (FARA) in Ghana. He was research adviser in the Cabinet of the Belgian Minister for Development Co-operation in 2013 and worked for the International Institute for Communication and Development in The Hague. Over the past 10 years (2007-2017) he has been extensively blogging on agricultural issues in Africa (a blog with an average of 15 to 20,000 visitors per month) and manages an online community of 8,600 members related to Agricultural Research for Development (ARD) in Africa with a specific attention to development and research projects related to the mitigation of contaminated food and feed in Africa due to aflatoxins.
