Short Bio Bahar Uslu, MD, PhD is a clinical embryologist, histologist, and inventor & designer of equipment for stem cell & IVF laboratories. She grew up, was educated and obtained medical degrees in three different countries - Turkey, Great Britain and the USA. Her clinical interests are IVF techniques, regenerative medicine, tissue engineering and embryonic stem cells. Her current research interest is focused on the investigation of the regulation of gene expression in granulosa cells. Dr. Uslu is a Board Certified Specialist in both Histology and Embryology. She served as a founder and director of Reproductive Medicine, Andrology and Infertility Units in the Turkish Ministry of Health Hospitals for 4 years. Her postgraduate training also included fellowships and lecturing in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at the Yale University School of Medicine for 5 years in New Haven, Connecticut, USA. Dr. Uslu has been the recipient of many national and international institutes of health and pharmaceutical industry-sponsored research grants and prizes. More than 50 conferences, presentations, book chapters and articles by Dr Uslu have been published in leading journals and institutions. She is a senior reviewer on the editorial boards of several scientific journals including Journal of Cytotechnology, Stem Cells and Cloning: Advances and Applications, Advanced Healthcare Technologies, International Journal of Women\'s Health etc. Dr. Uslu is Founding President and current Vice President of the Society of Histologists and Embryologists (SOHE). She has lectured around the world and has served on the faculty of several postgraduate courses focused on the clinical aspects of infertility. Additionally, she plays an active role in medical student and resident education, and advises researchers and students currently studying at Yale.
