Marcelo Gitirana Gomes Ferreira
Professor in Usability/User Experience and Assistive Technology at Universidade do Estado de Santa Catarina and a member of the Design Department. He received his certificate of higher education in Mechanical Engineering from Universidade Federal de Pernambuco, Brasil, in 1993. He received his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, Brazil, in 2007. He has 204 published papers in local and international peer-reviewed journals and scientific conferences in the fields of Human Factors, Product Design and New Product Develop. He is a member of the ad-hoc advisory committee of CAPES (Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Level or Education Personnel) and CNPq (National Council for Scientific and Technological Development). From 1998 to 2002, he worked as product engineer for Volkswagen in Brazil and also in Germany (Wolfsburg).
