Maria Teresa Herdeiro
Maria Teresa is a Pharmacist and Master in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Coimbra, Portugal. She has a Master’s in Food Science and Engineering from the School of Biotechnology, Portuguese Catholic University and a PhD in Public Health and Pharmacoepidemiology from the School of Medicine, University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain. She is also a Regulatory Affairs Specialist by Portuguese Pharmacist College. Maria Teresa is an Assistant Professor in Aveiro University, Medical Sciences Department, currently a coordinator of Clinical Research Management Master (between Aveiro University and NOVA University, Lisbon) and she is responsible for teaching classes in the following areas: Public Health and Epidemiology, Regulatory Affairs and Pharmacovigilance, Pharmacology and Therapeutics. She is a principal investigator in iBiMED (Institute for Biomedicine), Aveiro University. Moreover, she is the advanced course coordinator of Pharmacovigilance for health professionals (Aveiro University in collaboration with Valladolid University). She is a member of several international organizations: ENCePP Steering Group (European Network of Centres for Pharmacoepidemiology and Pharmacovigilance) - European Medicines Agency, European Association for Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics, Portuguese Society of Epidemiology, Portuguese Pharmaceutical Association. Maria Teresa has published more than 45 articles in the area of Pharmacovigilance, Epidemiology and Public Health, published in ISI web of knowledge and more than 100 oral communications in national and international conferences. She is co-author of several documents produced by ENCePP [Checklist for Study Protocols, Guide on Methodological Standards in Pharmacoepidemiology (Revision 7), Guidance on conducting systematic reviews and meta-analyses of completed comparative pharmacoepidemiological studies of safety outcomes, Methods for pharmacovigilance impact research] and member of Research Standards and Guidances. Presently, she is Editor in 5 International Journals (Associate Editor of Primary Care Respiratory Medicine; International EACPT Editorial Board for Clinical Therapeutics (Board of International Consulting Editors of Clinical Therapeutics); Clinical Infection and Immunity (Editorial Board); Antibiotics (Guest Editor) and International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health (Guest Editor)). She is an investigator in several projects financed by FCT (2 projects running / 2 projects finished), by Instituto de Salud Carlos III (2 project running), by CNPq and by QREN. In 2012, Maria Teresa received the award for Scientific Research Professor Maria Odette Santos-Ferreira, with the work entitled \"The role of the pharmacist in the Portuguese Pharmacovigilance System\" and in 2016 the award for Public Health and Clinic Epidemiology by Medical Science Lisbon Society.
