P.N. Palanisamy

Dr. P. N. Palanisamy is a Professor and the Head of the Department of Chemistry, Kongu Engineering College, Perundurai, Erode. He has more than 21 years of research and teaching experience. His field of specialization includes catalysis, wastewater treatment by adsorption, electrocoagulation and photocatalysis. He successfully guided nine PhD degree students and is presently guiding another nine PhD degree students in the field of water and wastewater treatment. He holds 98 research publications on the national and international level reputed journals in the area focused on catalysis and textile industrial dye removal efficiency. Dr. P. N. Palanisamy organized a number of sponsored national and international seminars, workshops and conferences. He presented and participated in more than 120 national and international conferences. He is a lifetime member of the Indian Council of Chemists and a reviewer/editorial board member of many journals. He authored three text books entitled Applied Chemistry, Engineering Chemistry and Environmental Science, for the benefit of budding engineers. Dr. P. N. Palanisamy has completed two R&D projects as Principal Investigator funded by UGC and DST and has one ongoing project funded by UGC. He received Best Performing Researcher Award (R&D projects) for the year 2014 from Kongu Engineering College, Outstanding Scientist Award for the year 2015 from Venus International Foundation, Shri P. K. Das Memorial Best Faculty of Chemistry (Senior Category) Award for the year 2016 by Nehru College of Educational and Charitable Trust and Best Scientist Award by SIAA (South Indian Association of Scientists, Developers and Faculties Award) in 2017 .
