Eisuke Kita

Eisuke Kita was born in Japan in 1964. After completing his high school degree, he enrolled in the School of Engineering of Mie University. After obtaining the bachelor's and the master's degree, he moved to the Graduate School of Mechanical Engineering of Nagoya University and graduated with a Ph.D. in Engineering in 1991. He spent 9 years in the School of Mechanical Engineering as a lecturer and an assistant professor, and 11 years in the School of Informatics and Science as an associate professor. In 2009 he was appointed full professor of the Graduate School of Information Science of Nagoya University. His publications include numerical analysis schemes, multi-agent traffic simulation, artificial market simulation, and application of Bayesian networks. He earned the honor as Encouraging prize of the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineering in 2000, Encouraging prize of Computer Science Committee of the Information Processing Society of Japan in 2007 and 2009.

Apart from mathematical optimization problems, evolutionary algorithms have also been used as an experimental framework within biological evolution and natural selection in the field of artificial life.
