Aminuddin Bin Ahmad Kayani

Dr Kayani graduated with a PhD in nanomaterials and optofluidics from RMIT University, Australia in December of 2012. He holds a full time Specialist 3 (Academic) position at the Multimedia University (MMU), Melaka, Malaysia. Dr Kayani’s research expertise are in the fields of nanotechnology, nanoparticles, micro/optofluidics, Raman spectroscopy, biosensing, lab on a chip, micro/nano fabrication, plasmonics, photovoltaic technology, bio/nano electronics, point of care devices and flow cytometry. In terms of industrial involvements, Dr Kayani is extensively exposed to traffic control and automation, supervisory control data acquisition, power systems engineering and solar power systems. Dr Kayani has extensive research and lab skills in microfluidics and nanoparticle manipulation using active forces, has more than 20 high quality journal publications and presented at over 20 international conferences. Being in industry for over 10 years, he has developed strong organization skills, business acumen, leadership, presentation and interpersonal skills. He is an adjunct fellow at the Institute of Microelectronics and Nanotechnology (IMEN) at The National University of Malaysia (Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia) where he is involved in research, fabrication activities and mentoring of staff in MEMS/NEMS and lab on a chip laboratory set up and also at the Advanced Multidisciplinary MEMS-Based Integrated Electronics NCER Centre Of Excellence (AMBIENCE), Universiti Malaysia Perlis where he conducts research in bio-MEMS.
