Farzaneh Tahmoorian

Dr Farzaneh Tahmoorian is a Senior Lecturer at Central Queensland University (CQU) in Australia. With over 10 years of broad work experience in construction and related fields, she has worked on various projects related to road construction, landfill construction, and waste management. Farzaneh earned her M.Sc. degree from the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) and her PhD in "Application of Waste Materials in Flexible Pavements" from Western Sydney University in Australia. Dr Tahmoorian has conducted extensive research in utilising various waste materials in asphalt mixes and has developed a novel approach for the mix design of asphalt pavements. Her research has resulted in an asphalt mix that exhibits improvements in durability, performance, and reduced cost, with a significant 6% reduction in bitumen consumption. Her efforts have been recognised with awards such as the Australian Postgraduate Award and the Western Sydney Top-up Award. Dr Tahmoorian is involved in several independent and collaborative research projects and has published over 25 peer-reviewed Journal and Conference papers (including articles under review) on the topic of asphalt mixes and sustainable asphalt and concrete pavements. She is also the Editor-in-Chief of the Australian Journal of Modernity in Road and Pavement Engineering and a regular reviewer of several international journals. Farzaneh's research and practical interests span a wide range of topics, including asphalt mix design, binder modification, concrete pavement, ground improvement techniques for road and railway lines, pavement engineering, road and transport engineering, sustainability and circular economy, life cycle analysis of innovative construction materials, and waste management. Her extensive work experience and research achievements demonstrate her dedication and passion for the field of civil engineering and her commitment to creating sustainable infrastructure solutions for a better future.
