Dr. Julio C. Hernandez-Camarena completed a fellowship in Cornea and Refractive Surgery at the “Instituto de Oftalmologia Conde de Valenciana – UNAM,” Mexico. He obtained a Ph.D. in Clinical Sciences at Tecnologico de Monterrey, Mexico, and is a member of the CONACYT National System of Researchers (Level 1). Dr. Hernandez is Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at Tecnologico de Monterrey School of Medicine and Health Sciences and clinical research coordinator of the Ophthalmology Residency Program. He has a special interest in clinical (keratoconus, corneal transplant, and infectious keratitis) and basic research (biopharmaceutical molecules therapy for ocular surface disease and Tissue engineering for corneal endothelium regeneration). Dr. Hernandez-Camarena is the author and co-author of more than forty peer-reviewed scientific articles related to the cornea, refractive surgery, and ocular surface disease.
