Nicola DAscenzo

Huazhong University of Science and Technology

Nicola D\'Ascenzo received his BSc degree in physics and the MS degree in applied physics from the University of Pisa, Italy in 2003 and 2005, respectively, and the PhD degree in natural sciences from the Physics Department, University of Hamburg, Germany. He is currently a Full Professor at School of Life Science, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China. He is currently member of the CDF experiment at Fermilab, and has been working in the SUSY discovery reach and in detector design in novel planned electron positron accelerators. As for the technological aspects, his research focuses on physics and optoelectronic technologies for the development of multivoltage threshold enabled photodetectors, and to build a new generation of radiation imaging systems for applications in both high-energy physics and nuclear medicine, with a highly cross-disciplinary approach. His research activities range from physical modeling of high energy and medical physics phenomena and related computational physics aspects in high performance computing, to technological aspects of the sensor development and the design of full imaging systems.
