Dr. Neelima Dhingra obtained her B. Pharmacy, M. Pharmacy (Pharmaceutical Chemistry), and Ph.D. (Pharmaceutical Chemistry) from the University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Panjab University, Chandigarh. Presently, serving as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Panjab University, Chandigarh. She has more than 10 years of teaching and research experience. Her major area of research focuses on designing (2D-QSAR, 3D-QSAR), synthesis, spectroscopy analysis, physicochemical parameters and biological evaluation (in vitro, in vivo, in silico) of steroidal derivatives especially 5- alpha reductase inhibitors. Her research work has been credited with 2 US patents, 4 national patents, 26 research papers in the peer reviewed national and international journals, 8 national awards including INDIRA VASUDEVAN AWARD (Best Paper Award in the field of cancer research) and one international BEST RESEARCH PAPER AWARD at the second international conference on Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Sciences in Singapore in 2014. Presently she is handling government agency (UGC, CSIR, DST) funded projects worth Rs 40 lakhs especially in the field of prostate, breast and lung cancer.
