Luca Colucci D’Amato

Luca Colucci D’Amato is an associate professor of General Pathology at the University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli,” where he runs the Laboratory of Cellular and Molecular Pathology, after being a researcher at the National Research Council (CNR). He received his medical degree from the University of Naples “Federico II,” where he, then, obtained a PhD degree in Molecular and Cellular Pathology. He also completed his residency in neurology at the same university. Soon after that, he devoted his efforts to biomedical molecular and cellular research, spending some research periods at the National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, MD, USA, the Bristol-Myers-Squibb Pharmaceutical Research Institute, Princeton, NJ, USA, and the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique, Gif-sur-Yvette, France. His scientific interests focus on the molecular mechanisms underlying neural cell proliferation, differentiation, and survival under physiological and pathological conditions.
