Antonio Teixeira received the Ph.D. degree from the University of Aveiro (UA) in 1999, partly developed with the University of Rochester. He holds an EC in management and leadership from MIT Sloan School. He is a Professor with the UA since 1999. He was with Nokia Siemens Networks and Coriant (2013/14) as a Standardization Expert (In FSAN, ITU-T, IEEE 802.3). Since 2014, he has been the Dean of UA Doctoral School. He has published over 400 papers (over 100 in journals) and holds eight patents. He has tutored over 60 M.Sc.’s and 14 Ph.D.’s successfully. He has participated in over 35 project and co-founded PICadvanced S.A. He has served and chaired ECOC, ICTON, OFC and Networks. He is a Senior Member of OSA and a member, IEEE standards association.
