Dr. Monjur Ahmed graduated from Dhaka Medical College, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Then he went to the United Kingdom where he got training in Internal Medicine and became the Member of the Royal College of Physicians of the United Kingdom. Subsequently, he came to the United States and received training in Gastroenterology and Gastrointestinal Motility. Currently, he has been working as an Associate Professor of Medicine in the division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, USA. He has been a practicing gastroenterologist for 22 years. He also serves as an Editor-in-Chief of the World Journal of Gastrointestinal Oncology.
