Grazyna Nowak is a professor of pharmaceutical sciences at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, USA. She received her MSc in biochemistry and Ph.D. in physiology in Poland from the University of Poznan and Jagiellonian University, respectively. Her postdoctoral training took place at the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Aarhus University Hospital in Denmark, where she carried out research on the metabolism of thyroid hormones, and at the University of Georgia, USA, where she studied mechanisms of cell repair after injury. Her research has been supported by a number of grants and is focused on the role of mitochondrial function in renal cell injury and repair after injury, and the role of protein kinases in these processes. She served on editorial boards of American Journal of Physiology Renal Physiology, Toxicology Letters, and Journal of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics. She also served as a reviewer on several NIH study sections.
