After graduating from my master's and engineer's studies in the fields of Biotechnology and Biomedical Engineering, I started my scientific and professional career Dr. Stanisław Sakiel Burns Treatment Center in Siemianowice Śląskie, where I worked with the preparation of tissues (skin and amniotic allogeneic) and cell culture in the Laboratory of Cell and Tissue Culture in vitro with TissueBank. Both keratinocytes and stem cells were qualified by the Commission for Advanced Therapies at the European Medicines Agency as advanced therapy medicinal products, therefore their production began to be subject to the principles of Good Manufacturing Practice with all its consequences. As a consequence, in June 2013, I started to work as a Quality Control Manager within the meaning of pharmaceutical law. In 2013, I also became a member of the team collecting allogenic skin during multi-organ donation. In addition, I started working as a laboratory diagnostician after completing postgraduate studies in medical analytics. While writing my doctoral thesis, I completed postgraduate studies in the fields of Clinical Research and Biostatistics. I aimed to improve the scientific workshop in order to clinical implementation of amniotic stem cells which were topis of my doctoral thesis. After obtaining the title of doctor of medical sciences, I started working at universities: Wyższa Szkoła Biznesu in Dąbrowa Górnicza, Wyższa Szkoła. Tyszkiewicza in Bielsko-Biała and the Akademia Technoczno-Humanistyczna in Bielsko-Biała. In addition, I acquired experience in scientific activities through participation in the Program Committee meeting. At the same time, as an employee of the Burn Treatment Center, I work with the application for consent for the production of amniotic stem cells. I try to combine the scientific workshop with the possibility of the practical application of research results in severely burned patients. While working at the Burn Treatment Center, I took part in two research projects concerning the use of thermoresponsive polymers to obtain a full sheet of cells for transplantation. The second project was related to the possibility of using transgenic pigskin as an alternative to allogenic skin transplant. I also took a small part in the project regarding the use of thermal imaging camera for burn wound diagnostics (order contract for the settlement of research works from the Burn Treatment Center). Currently, I am additionally employed at the Silesian Medical School as an Adjunct and in the School of Strategic Planning. I had the pleasure of reviewing students’ thesis. At the moment I will carry out work as a supervisor of students’ 7 theses. I try to achieve my personal development in the fields of tissue and cell banking, transplantation medicine, good clinical practice, good manufacturing practice (GMP), laboratory diagnostics, biostatistics, and didactics. Currently, the area of my interests has been extended of management, including Resource-Based View methods (RBV) and lean management (LEAN) in healthcare. In addition, in 2018, as one of 15 people in Poland, I was qualified to specialize in laboratory medical immunology. The effects of my interests and scientific and didactic activities are presented in the form of papers presented at the national level and international conventions and in the form of international publications and book chapters. I believe that publishing and reviewing scientific achievements are in line with the spirit of evidence-based medicine and directly increases progress in patients treatment. Above mentioned ideas inspired me to become a member of the Association for Good Clinical Practice, National Chamber of Laboratory Diagnosticians and the Polish Tissue and Cell Banking Association. Additionally, in 2018 I became a co-founder of the patent named 'Method of obtaining acellular dermis for tissue grafts' concerning the methodology of obtaining acellular matrixes from human skin. Involvement in transplantology and treatment of burn patients and chronic wounds, constant desire to improve scientific skills, rush to broaden knowledge and sharing led do my nomination to the golden medal for merits for the Silesian Voivodeship.
