Clara Ionescu
Dr. Clara M. Ionescu was born in 1979, Cimpulung, Romania. She received the M.Sc. degree in industrial informatics and automation from 'Dunarea de Jos” University, Galati, Romania, in 2003. She obtained the Ph.D. degree at Ghent University, Gent, Belgium in 2009, on identification of human respiratory system by means of fractional order models. Currently, she holds a post-doctoral grant in the same university, funded by the Flanders Research Foundation (FWO), one of the most prestigious scientific organizations in Belgium. Her expertise involves modeling, identification and control in both technical and non-technical areas, all developed within the MATLAB framework. She is co-lecturer at Ghent University for the courses ‘Modelling and Control of Dynamical Systems’ and ‘Computer Control of Industrial Processes’, where students are instructed by means of MATLAB. She has more than 100 peer-reviewed publications in journals, conferences and books, being actively involved in promoting the concept of fractality in biological systems and their applications to medicine.
