Guy Kouemou

Guy Kouemou was born on January 15, 1970. He received the Diploma in electrical engineering in 1995 and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering and information technology in 2000 from the University of Karlsruhe (KIT, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology), Germany. From 1996 to 2000, he was development engineer at the Hewlett Packard Company and Agilent Technology Inc. in the research and development division, Medical Care System, in Boeblingen, Germany. From 1994 to now, he contributed to several exchanges with researchers at the Florida International University (FL), and the George Washington University (Washington DC), USA, mostly about Markov and stochastics related processes. Up to now, Dr. Kouemou works as radar system engineer, project and product manager, in the research and development department at the EADS Germany. One of his main working areas is the development of radar based intelligence systems using pattern recognition technologies. Since 1996, he has published several papers at diverse international conferences related with stochastical automates, artificial neural networks, radar signal processing methods and target classification/identification systems. He is author of several patents in the field of radar systems but also medical devices. Dr. Kouemou speaks and writes seven languages e.g. English, French and German.

In this book “Radar Technology”, the chapters are divided into four main topic areas: Topic area 1: “Radar Systems” consists of chapters which treat whole radar systems, environment and target functional chain. Topic area 2: “Radar Applications” shows various applications of radar systems, including meteorological radars, ground penetrating radars and glaciology. Topic area 3: “Radar Functional Chain and Signal Processing” describes several aspects of the radar signal processing. From parameter extraction, target detection over tracking and classification technologies. Topic area 4: “Radar Subsystems and Components” consists of design technology of radar subsystem components like antenna design or waveform design.
