Ricardo Castedo

Dr. Ricardo Castedo is Assistant Professor in the Geological and Mining Engineering Department at the School of Mines and Energy, at the Polytechnic University of Madrid, Spain. He holds a B.Sc. in Geological Engineering, an M.Sc. in Teaching and Education (International University of La Rioja, Spain) and a Ph.D. in Mining Engineering (Polytechnic University of Madrid, Spain). He was awarded a Research Fellowship from 2009-2012 funded by the Polytechnic University of Madrid - FPU, Spain. He has had three research stays at New Mexico Tech (USA), University of Leeds (UK) and University of Windsor (Canada). He is the author of 4 books or book chapters, more than 30 publications in scientific journals and 40 contributions to national and international conferences, in addition to being a reviewer of Scientific JCR Journals and International Conferences. Dr. Castedo's research interests include explosives behavior and characterization, safety and modeling of explosives, thermodynamic calculations, and blasting; safety and security Engineering; testing with explosives; numerical modeling.
