(Chun-Ye) Susan Vasana

Dr. (Chun-Ye) Susan Vasana was born in China and is a U.S. citizen who has studied, worked and taught in China and in North America. She is currently an associate professor of electrical engineering at the University of North Florida, USA. Dr. Vasana received her M.S. and Ph.D. in electrical and computer engineering from Queen’s University, Canada, in 1994. She received her B.Sc. from Shanghai Jiaotong University, China, in 1983 and her M.Sc. from Tongji University, China, in 1986. Prior to joining UNF, Dr. Vasana worked as a Wireless Communication Engineer for Motorola Inc. from 1994 to 2002. She worked in the area of research and development of pagers and early cell phones. She also worked on Qualcomm CDMA system at the National Institute of Scientific Research (INRS), Canada (1994). She was an assistant professor at Tongji University in China from 1986 to 1989, and was an adjunct professor at Florida Atlantic University from 2000 to 2002. Her research interests include wireless communications and biomedical signal processing. She has been actively publishing in international journals and international conferences, and has 10 U.S. patents issued in her name.
