Chandrajit Lahiri has completed his Ph.D from Bose Institute, Kolkata, India and postdoctoral studies as DBT-PDF and DST Young Scientist from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India and later with Erasmus Mundus WILLPower International fellowship from the Technical University of Munich, Germany. He has served as an Associate Professor in the Department of Bioinformatics at Karunya University, Coimbatore till June, 2013. He served as Visiting Scientists at the Computational Biology Group of the Institute of Mathematical Sciences, Chennai till April 2014 and later at Basudha - A Biotechnology Concern in Kolkata till March 2015. Currently he is a Senior Faculty member of the Department of Biological Sciences at the Sunway University, Malaysia since April 2015. He has shifted his field of study from Chemistry and Biochemistry through Molecular Microbiology to Evolutionary and Structural Bioinformatics and lately Network Biology. He is serving as a representative member of the International Complex Systems Society from India and editorial board member of some journals of international repute. Broadly speaking, Dr. Chandrajit has his research interest focused around understanding the mechanisms of gene regulation followed by probing into the structure function relation of the proteins involved therein and their molecular evolution down the ages of Earth.
