Gilson Antonio Giraldi: Received the B.Sc. in Mathematics from Pontifical Catholic University of Campinas, Brazil, in 1986. M.Sc. in Applied Mathematics, Unicamp, SP, Brazi, and PhD in Computer Graphics from Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 1993 and 2000, respectively. From 2000 to 2010, he was with the National Laboratory for Scientific Computing, PetrÃ³polis, Brazil, where he is responsible for academic research projects in the area of image segmentation, data visualization and fluid animation. In particular, he has worked in the application of SVM for medical image analysis, new ranking method for principal component and discriminant analysis.
