Nuray Kizildag
Nuray Kizildag graduated from Textile Engineering Department of Ege University in 2000, started her career as a quality assurance engineer and later on took different roles in different textile companies between 2000 and 2007. She got M. Sc. Eng and Ph. D. in Textile Engineering from Istanbul Technical University in 2010 and 2017, respectively. Her work during M.Sc.Eng and Ph. D. focused on functional textile materials. With her Ph. D. thesis entitled ‘Design and Development of Nanocomposite Fibers’ she was granted ‘Serhat Ozyar Young Scientist of the Year 2017 Award’ and ‘ITU Best Thesis Award’. She worked as postdoctoral researcher at Sabanci University between October 2018 and June 2022 and supported the SU-IMC’s efforts on the collaborative project, ISOPREP (www.isoprep.co.uk) which presents a novel approach for the ionic liquid-based recycling of polypropylene from waste carpet. She has been working as faculty member at Institute of Nanotechnology, Gebze Technical University since July 2022. She is interested in smart materials, functional textile materials, biomaterials, nanotechnology, nanofibers, nanocomposites, composites, recycling and upcycling of plastics, sustainability, circularity and material characterization.
