Malcolm D'Souza
Malcolm J. D’Souza is professor of chemistry at Wesley College, Delaware. He is the principal investigator on the Wesley DE-INBRE, DE-EPSCoR, NSF-ARRA, and Cannon Scholar (NSF S-STEM) programs. In June 2016, Dr. D’Souza received the NIH-NIGMS IDeA Award - Sidney A. McNairy, Jr. Mentoring Award and in April, the Delaware BioScience Association selected Dr. D’Souza, as its 2016 Educator of the Year in Higher Education. In 2012, he was awarded the American Chemical Society’s E. Emmett Reid Award, which recognizes high-quality teaching in chemistry at small colleges in the Mid-Atlantic region. In 2009, the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Northern Illinois University, recognized Dr. D’Souza as one of its 50 most distinguished alumni. In addition to his research in physical organic chemistry, he also has projects, presentations, and publications in the areas of chemometrics, STEM education, obesity studies, and in the design of commercial pharmaceutical and agricultural databases. Dr. D’Souza serves as the associate dean of interdisciplinary/collaborative sponsored research.
