Vidhya R. Rao
Dr. Vidhya R Rao is a vision researcher with expertise in ocular pharmacology and drug delivery. Dr. Rao completed her doctoral dissertation and training in vision science with a focus on the role of optic nerve head in glaucoma pathogenesis from Department of Pharmacology, University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth, TX, USA. Dr. Rao continued her postdoctoral training in ocular drug delivery and basic research in diabetic retinopathy in Skaggs school of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Colorado, Denver and in Department of Ophthalmology, University of Illinois, Chicago, USA. Dr. Rao is currently a Research Staff Scientist with Department of Pharmacology, Loyola University Chicago and Veterans Affairs, Hines, IL. Dr. Rao has authored several research publications in the field of vision research. Dr. Rao’s research interests are in identifying molecular mechanisms that can be targeted by therapeutics for improving vision in glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy.
