Belma Kocer-Gumusel
Belma Kocer-Gumusel graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Pharmacy (BS). She is currently working as a full-time professor and serves as the department head in Hacettepe University, Faculty of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmaceutical Toxicology. She received her PhD degree in 1999. She worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Biochemistry, Laboratory of Oxidative Stress Biology in Grenoble Joseph Fourier University Faculty of Pharmacy and in CEA, the laboratory of Inorganic Chemistry and Nucleic Acid Lesions in 1999, 2000, and 2004. She gave lectures as invited speaker in many congresses. Her main interests are the reproductive disorders, endocrine diseases (particularly thyroid diseases), and oxidative stress induced by endocrine disrupting chemicals, particularly by phthalates, and the protective role of selenium against oxidative stress. Belma Kocer-Gumusel has published more than 100 papers in national and international peer-reviewed journals and has more than 700 citations. Dr. Kocer-Gumusel is a member of numerous national and international scientific societies including Turkish Society of Toxicology, EUROTOX, and IUTOX.
