Fernando Lima

Fernando P. Lima is a postdoctoral fellow at CIBIO-UP (Centro de Investigação em Biodiversidade e Recursos Genéticos), Portugal, and at the Department of Biological Sciences of the University of South Carolina, USA. His professional interests focus on marine biodiversity and biogeography, with particular emphasis on the processes governing species distributions. Most of his recent work is linked with alterations in species distributions and their relation with climate change. He uses field experiments, remote sensing and biophysical modeling to determine the mechanisms responsible for setting geographic limits of species, and field studies are currently underway in the Atlantic and Pacific coasts of North America, and in the Atlantic coasts of Europe and North Africa.
