Mónica Oleastro is Researcher and Head of the National Reference Laboratory for Gastrointestinal Infections (GI) of the Department of Infectious Diseases, National Institute of Health, Lisbon, Portugal (2010-present). She received her PhD degree in Biology from the Sciences Faculty, University of Lisbon and has published so far 63 papers in international journals covering the three main areas of GI (bacteria, viruses and parasites). Dr. Oleastro\'s main working areas are: reference diagnostics and surveillance of foodborne pathogens (FBP), molecular epidemiology of FBP, antimicrobial resistance of FBP, emerging zoonosis; Scientific supervisor of several Master and PhD theses; pontual academic lectures on master and PhD programs.
