Ivan Diaz-Padilla received his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from Autonoma University, Madrid, Spain, in 2000. Also in Madrid, he completed his residency training in medical oncology in 2005. He achieved his Masters of Philosophy, M. Phil. (Diploma de Estudios Avanzados, D.E.A., Universidad Computense, Madrid) Dr. Diaz Padilla held a junior staff position at the University Hospital '12 de Octubre” from 2006 until 2008. In February 2008, he was appointed staff physician at the Centro Integral Oncologico Clara Campal, in Madrid, where he started his career in Gynecologic Medical Oncology. After a two-year clinical research fellowship at the Princess Margaret Hospital, in Toronto, he returned to Spain. Dr. Diaz-Padilla has been appointed consultant medical oncologist at the Centro Integral Oncologico Clara Campal. He also serves as a clinical research physician at the START (South Texas Accelerated Research Therapeutics) franchise in Madrid. Dr. Diaz-Padilla’s research interests are drug development and translational science in gynecological cancer, with an emphasis on biomarker discovery and validation.
