Muhammad Asif

Muhammad Asif has been a Senior Research Scientist at Wheat, Barley and Triticale Program, Crop Sciences Institute, National Agriculture Research Centre, Islamabad, Pakistan. He completed his B.Sc. (Hons.) and M.Sc. (Hons.) education from University of Arid Agriculture, Rawalpindi, Pakistan in 1998. He also served Pakistan Agriculture Research Council, Islamabad, Pakistan for seven years where he was involved in wheat varietal/germplasm development for rainfed areas of Pakistan. He has written more than 50 scientific articles and 10 book chapters. He immigrated to Canada during 2003. Over the last three years at Department of Agricultural, Food and Nutritional Science, University of Alberta, he has focused on the improvement of doubled haploid production technology in wheat and triticale along with QTL mapping and Marker Assisted Breeding for various agronomic, quality, disease resistance and competitive ability traits in wheat.
