Ciprian Iliescu
Ciprian Iliescu received his BS degree and PhD degree from School of Mechanical Engineering, Polytechnic University of Bucharest in 1989 and 1999 respectively. While pursuing his PhD degree he worked at Baneasa S.A. where he was involved in the design and fabrication of pressure sensors. Between 1997 and 2000 he collaborated with IMT Bucharest on projects related to magnetic sensors. Between 2001 and 2003 he worked as postdoctoral fellow at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and was involved in projects related to microphone, wafer level packaging of MEMS devices and RF microrelay. Currently, he is Senior Research Scientist with the Institute of Bioengineering and Nanotechnology,. His current research projects relate to “lab on a chip” solution for drug screening, dielectrophoresis, electrical characterization of cells by impedance spectroscopy, and transdermal drug delivery using microneedles array. Dr. Iliescu is author and co-author of more than 200 papers published in journals and conferences proceedings and co-author of 4 book chapters.
