Mayumi Matsunaga
Mayumi Matsunaga, who hails from Fukuoka, Japan, bears B.E., M.E. and D.E. degrees in computer science and communication engineering from Kyushu University, which is located in her native city, and is a member of IEEE. While she was a Ph.D. student at Kyushu University, she studied in 1998 in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the University of Wisconsin-Madison to extend the traditional coupled mode theory to that which includes an analysis of coupled microstrip lines on anisotropic substrates. In 2000, she joined the Faculty of Engineering at Ehime University. In 2017, she joined the Faculty of Engineering at Tokyo University of Technology where she currently specializes in the theory of electromagnetic waves and numerical analyses. She is just as truly appreciative of the Young Engineers\' Award for her work which she received from the Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers in March 2001.
