Hoon Kiat Ng
Dr. Hoon Kiat Ng is an Associate Professor at the Department of Mechanical, Materials and Manufacturing Engineering, University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus. He is also the head of the Energy and Fuel research division and academic champion of the aerospace research priority group. He received his BEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Sheffield, UK and PhD in Engineering from the University of Nottingham, UK. Dr. Ng works in a wide range of interdisciplinary experimental and computational projects, including CFD-chemical kinetics modelling of diesel/biodiesel combustion, biofuels production and combustion, engine testing, parallel processing and neural network analysis of engine performance, as well soil remediation using extraction and advanced oxidation processes (AOP). He has well over 80 publications to date in internationally refereed journals, conference proceedings, book chapters and books. He also serves on the editorial board of seven international journals, and has been appointed to various advisory panels and expert committees. He has led a number of projects which are funded from a variety of sources including government organisations, industry and university. He is currently a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, UK and a member of several professional bodies including the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) International. Dr Ng was recently the winner of the inaugural 2012 Chancellor's Award.
