Patricia Abrantes

Patrícia Abrantes is assistant professor in the Institute of Geography and Spatial Planning of the Universidade de Lisboa, where she lectures GIS, Remote sensing, statistics and spatial planning. She is researcher of the Center of Geographical Studies of the same institution. In 2007 she completed her PhD in Geography, specializing in spatial planning in the University Nova of Lisbon and in Paris IV (Sorbonne). Since then she worked with the French Agriculture Research Institute, with the University of Bordeaux III, with the Univesity of Porto, and with the Institute of Geography and Spatial Planning of the University of Lisbon. Her research interests are Land Use/Cover changes, Urban agriculture, Agriculture Ecosystem services, Food systems, Spatial Analysis, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Participatory GIS using simulation and scenario building.
