Marco A. Alzate received the Bsc. degree in electronics engineering from Universidad Distrital, and the Msc. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from Universidad de los Andes, both in BogotÃ¡, Colombia. He has been researcher/lecturer at Instituto TecnolÃ³gico de ElectrÃ³nica y Comunicaciones (ITEC-telecom, Colombia), research assistant at the Center for Satellite Hybrid Communication Networks (CSHCN, University of Maryland, College Park, MD) and scientific research at the National Institute for Applied Computational Intelligence (NIACI, University of South Florida, Tampa, FL). Currently, he is full professor at Universidad Distrital. His research interest is the application of signal processing theory, control theory and complex adaptive systems theory to modern communication networks modeling.
