M. A. Martin Luengo, graduated in chemistry at the Autonoma University of Madrid (Spain) in 1980. In the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Cientificas (CSIC, Spain), she presented her Master work on the characterization of oxidation catalysts, in 1981 and her phD on the characterization of palladium supported in 1983, both with honours and the highest qualification. As a postdoctoral grant holder of the CSIC she worked in catalysts characterization in the University of Brunel in England till 1987 and then in the University of Louvain la Neuve in Belgium. From 1987 till December 1991, she was granted a fellowship IA to work with the Scientific Engineering Research Council of England, on Fischer Tropsch processes to prepare fuels from synthesis gas. In 1992 she gained a permanent position of Research Scientist in the CSIC of Spain, where she has been working since. She has directed and/or collaborated in more than 25 research projects, has ca 100 scientific papers and chapters of books, has been involved in over 120 congresses, has several patents of invention and is a member of several scientific societies, i.e. Chartered Chemist of the Royal Society of Chemistry since 1990, invited member of the American Chemical Society since 2014, member of the Royal Spanish Society of Catalysis and Spanish society of Clays, and is preparing several papers and book chapters on request.
