Dr Adedayo Omobolanle Adio (Nee Omoni) FWACS, FMCOPHTH, FCIA is a Senior Lecturer and Consultant Ophthalmologist in the Department of Ophthalmology, University of Port Harcourt with her area of Specialty/Sub-specialty being Paediatric Ophthalmology, glaucoma and strabismus. She completed Medical school education in 1990 at the University of Ilorin and Kwara state and obtained post graduate fellowships in Ophthalmology in 2000 in both, the West African college and the National Postgraduate Medical Colleges of Nigeria. She is an Examiner for both colleges and a national and international reviewer of Medical Journals. Currently she is in charge of Paediatric Ophthalmology services in the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital. She is also the Coordinator of the Rivers state Prevention of Blindness(PBL) Committee since 2008, the South -South Zonal Facilitator for the Nigerian Prevention of Blindness Committee since 2005 and recently appointed (2012) the South south coordinator for Ophthalmological society of Nigeria OSN. She has given several public lectures and is actively engaged in awareness and public enlightenment programs in the print media and electronic media. She has also been actively engaged in Community volunteer activities, notably in the State PBL committee organized cataract surgical eye camp of 2010. She is actively engaged in research with over 36 publications in local and international journals.
