Gianmarco Silva David graduated in Agronomic Engineer at Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, São Paulo State University (Unesp), Botucatu, Brazil (1993). Dr. David obtained his MSc. in Biological Oceanography at Oceanographic Institute of São Paulo University (USP) in 1997 and PhD. in Ecology at São Carlos Federal University (UFSCar) (2002). Since 2005, he is scientific researcher at São Paulo State Agency for Agribusiness Technology (APTA) at Barra Bonita, São Paulo, Brazil. His main research interests are fisheries biology of marine and freshwater fish, and impacts of cage aquaculture upon the ecosystems in which farms are sited. He also develops scientific research directed towards social development of artisanal fishermen and small-scale aquaculturists. He lectured courses for undergraduate and graduate students and collaborates as referee for Brazilian research agencies, graduate programs and scientific journals.
