Dr Puvanasvaran, a Professional Engineer graduated in Mechanical Engineering University Technology Malaysia, did his post-graduate studies in Engineering Management and obtained his Doctorate of Manufacturing System Engineering in 2009. He has been working as a Senior Engineer for over 6 years in National Semiconductor Melaka. During his tenure he was employed as an End of Line Process Engineer. During this time, he was also a team member of the company’s QS 9000 Quality Systems implementation project team. He joins Academic Field in University Technical Malaysia Melaka as a Lecturer in year 2002. Beside involved in Teaching and Learning Activities for undergraduates and post graduates students, he actively involved in research work. One of his main contributions during his doctorial study is thru attached with “Aero Composite” Manufacturing Company in Malaysia from 2005 to 2008. The scope of work includes planning and implementing Lean concept for above company in general and developing new framework to enhance problem solving capability among employees in eliminating wastages at Kitting department as a pilot study. This new framework (People Development System) was developed by him and successfully adopted by the company to include under their Lean House as a foundation pillar. In addition to this, he has presented various papers with focus on Lean concept related to his current study in journals and conferences internationally. His fields of interests are in Intergrating System, Total Quality Management/Six Sigma, Organizational Transformation/Change, Feasibility Studies, Lean Operation or Kaizen and Personality.
