Robinson Pizzio was born in Porto Alegre, RS, Brazil, in 1974. He received the B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering in January 1996, and the M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering in August 1998 both from the PontifÃcia Universidade CatÃ³lica do Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS) at the Electrical Engineering Department, Porto Alegre, RS, Brazil. He worked as a Development Engineer at Icotron (named EPCOS today) from May 1998 to August 1999. From September 1999 to March 2006 he was with the Computer Science Department at PUCRS - Campus Uruguaiana as an Assistant Professor. Also at PUCRS, from 2001 to 2003 he was the General Manager of the Data Center. From March 2008 to July 2009 Professor Robinson was teaching classes in the Electrical Engineering Department at Universidade do Sul de Santa Catarina (UNISUL). From August 2009 to July 2010 he was with the Control Systems and Automation department at University of Caxias do Sul (UCS) as an Assistant Professor. In August 2010 he is back to the Electrical Engineering Department at UNISUL as an Assistent Professor. His research interests are focused on the areas of digital signal and image processing and its applications.
